PERSONAL PROFILE

I have  been involved in educational technology design, implementation, research and consultancy for over twenty years, working closely with Higher Education Institutes, schools and media companies in UK, Singapore, Malaysia and Japan.

My immersive Virtual Reality research has been recognized and funded by the UK Prime Minister's Initiative (PMI2) and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).   In 2012 I was awarded at the United States Army's Federal Virtual Worlds Challenge for my research in virtual collaboration. Virtual simulations have included the Fukushima nuclear power plant accident of 2011, learning how to build a desktop PC, Hakodate history and virtual heritage focussing upon late 19th Century Japan and industrial England. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been integrated with the use of knowledgeable avatars that can communicate in natural real-time discourse. I also conduct engaging workshops on developing AI Literacy.
